Sandwell tomorrow.

Sunday night.  The weekend seems to have flown past.  I've been really tired this weekend, so I spent a lot of Saturday and quite a bit of Sunday sleeping.  Watched a few more episodes of Cowboy Bebop, am watching Avatar at the moment (the James Cameron film), and have played a bit of Halo as well.  All in all not the most productive weekend, but I'm feeling quite refreshed now.

Tomorrow I start a one week rotation of working at Sandwell.  I had a drive out there today to get a feel for the route, and it doesn't seem too bad.  I get the feeling it's going to be a nightmare during rush hour traffic though.  But what I'm really not loking forward to is the fact that it's only a small place, it'll just be me and 1-2 other people.  I've heard the workload's not too bad, but I'd rather be in a big group of people than part of a really small team.  At least it's only a week.
And no, I won't be there with the girl I was dreaming about the other night lol.

Looking forward to getting back to normal working life next week.

What an odd dream :-\

I had such a strange dream last night that I really need to get it down before I forget it, so this might seem a bit of a weird post.

Okay it started off I was watching TV, and it was some kind of really big event.  It wasn't New Years' Eve, but it was of a similar sort of scale, and it seemed to have some sort of spiritual significance.  Noel Edmunds was presenting and he was going round the studio audience asking them various questions about how they were feeling and whatnot, and then suddenly he stopped at one audience member and it was one of my friends from work.  And before he could ask anything she asked if she could say hi to someone and she said "This is a message for Rob, (?????) flowers are the best kind!" (I put (?????) because I can't remember what kind of flowers she said).
Anyway, the show went on, and afterwards there was a behind-the-scenes show, and my friend was there again.  They'd found out she'd got a big tattoo down her back which they liked the design of, so some of the team's artists were copying it.
Now this is where it gets weird.
I ended up in their behind-the-scenes office, and I'm not quite sure how I got there.  But someone explained it to me and somehow I had just teleported there because of the way their fax machine was wired up, and when I got back I would have to make sure to save and back-up all of the data on the fax machine at work otherwise I'd lose my memories of this event.  So I went and had a chat with my friend - who at this point was getting a bit tired of having to sit with the back of her top open so that they could copy her tattoo.  Then someone noticed my tattoos through my shirt and decided they had to be drawn as well, so once my friend was done I had to sit there while mine were copied.

And that's it.  I also had another dream about having to defend and evacuate people from a lab of some kind while aliens attacked, but I'm pretty sure that was just cause by me playing Halo: Reach until 4:30 in the morning!

Oh and I kept referring to the person in my dream as "my friend" because I don't know if anyone rom work might be reading this!  If so, I'll let you try and figure out who I've been dreaming about :-P lol

Cowboys, Ukes, and chocolate!

Finally I've started watching Cowboy Bebop!  I was leant it by a friend at work just before Christmas, but with series 3 of Dexter, series 8 of Scrubs, and series 6 of House, it got put on the back burner a wee bit.  Anyhoo, now I've watched all of them I'm free to pursue Cowboy Bebop!

So far I've watched 6 episodes, and I've got to say it's kinda hit and miss for me.  I like the style of the show, I like the characters, and I like the sense of humour, but at the moment the actual plots aren't that great.  There's been 2 episodes I've really enjoyed, but the others haven't grabbed my attention too much.  Still, I've been leant the complete series, so I'm going to stick with it and see if it wins me over :)

In unrelated news I put the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain onto my iPod last night (their cd's, not the actual orchestra... they wouldn't fit), so I've been enjoying a bit of uke' music on the ride to and from work today :)  Oh and speaking of which - petrol prices?! What the **** is going on? Luckily being on a bike rather than a car is saving me a shedload of money, but still prices are going up at a ridiculous rate!

And as for the chocolate - my order from Hotel Chocolat that I placed in the after-Christmas sale has finally been despatched :) Nice chocolate is on its way!!!

I have a backlog.

I'm just looking over my dvd/bookshelves, and I'm finding I've got a lot of things building up to watch/read.  At the moment I still have:
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (book)
The Girl Who Played With Fire (book)
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest (book)
Simon Pegg: Nerd Do Well (book)
Cowboy Bebop (dvd)
The Devils Backbone (dvd)
Cronos (dvd)
The Orphanage (dvd)
Stroszek (dvd)
Prospero Burns (book)
Sabbat Worlds (book)
Ciaphas Cain Ominbus (book)

I've got to admit it's getting to the stage where I'm wondering if I'll ever catch up!

In unrelated news my watch exploded the other day (the watch gods do not favour me) so I need to go get a new one later.  I'm not sure whether to just pop up to Argos and pick one up, or if I fancy making a full on trip into town and enjoying a day out of the house.

Decisions decisions...

Happy New Year!

Well okay it's actually now January 3rd, but still I guess I should say happy new year! Which I now have.  Twice.
I don't really get with new years day.  Okay it means we all have to fork out an extra bit of money for a new calender, but all we're really celebrating is that the Earth made it round the Sun one more time.  Good for you, Earth, I believed in you! :)
But anyway, a new year it is, so I thought I'd mark it with a blog update.  So here I am updating.  I'm not quite sure what to talk about.

I have my first follower!  Hello follower!  *waves*  I had to bribe her with tea and cake, but at least I have someone following my blog now :)

So it's been a month since my last update... what have I gotten up to in the freezing month of December?  Well I froze, obviously.  I mean sweet monkey Zeus it was ridiculous!  I had to rely on public transport to get to work, which I hated.  My 45 minute scoot home turned into a bus journey which lasted anything up to 2 hours!
But aside from the snow it wasn't a bad month.  I had my first Christmas do at my new workplace :)  I may have drank slightly too much, but I danced like a crazy person and had a good time.  And I had an all-expenses paid trip to London courtesy of Cadbury (which was a nightmare to get to because of the snow) which ended up with me running around for a week taking photos of people with a purple ball.  Supposedly I won a camcorder out of it, but I haven't received it yet.  I think I might have to email them again.
And obviously there was Christmas, but I didn't get too excited about it this year.  It just kind of passed by without much notice.

Okay sorry this hasn't been a very good blog entry, but I'm getting a bit tired so I'm finding it hard to concentrate :-\  I think I'll just leave it at this for now.
